Pro Line Archers Shoot for Podium at National Championships

The National Archery Championships were held at Memorial Park in Colorado Springs Colorado on August 5 – 10. Seven archers affiliated with Pro Line Archery attended the annual event with fantastic results. Archers shoot 288 arrows over four days spanning 4 distances the longest being 90 meters to determine the champion in each age category.

In the Recurve Male Bowmen Division (ages 10-12) – Dylan McMenamy finished in first place claiming his first National Championship. This was Dylan’s first appearance at a US
National Championship.

In the Recurve Female Junior Division (ages 17-18) – Laura Guggenheim finishing in 11th place.

In the Recurve Male Cadet Division (ages 15-16) – Benjamin Chu finished in first place claiming his first National Championship. This was Benjamin’s first appearance at a US National Outdoor Championship.

In the Recurve Masters 50+ age division – David Ontell finished in 4th place.

In the Recurve Senior Female Division – Tung Ying Chu finished in the top 20 results pending.

In the Recurve Senior Male Division – Joseph McGlyn finished in 3rd place with Guy Gerig finishing 16th and Randel “PeeWee” Turner finished 35th place.

Joseph McGlyn was awarded the Clayton Shenk Award. The award is presented to the archer with the highest combined total for the National Indoor Championship, Field
Nationals and the Outdoor Nationals.

Joseph McGlyn also earned position on the 2009 United States Archery Team. This was Joseph 8th consecutive year as a member of the USAT.
